Each spring, Little Man's school raises funds for a particular charity with a school concert and Cherry Blossom
festival. The disaster of March 11, 2011 left a huge path of destruction in the Tohoku region affecting many
communities and thousands of people. Among the losses suffered, are parks and communal spaces for families
to gather and for children to play in. The proceeds from the events this year were donated towards the building
of a Playground of Hope with It's Not Just Mud, a non-profit volunteer organization. In addition to financial
support, the students and parents plan to volunteer their time to build, what will truly be, a playground of hope.
