Aspen - July 2013
A quick stop in the kooky town of Leadville
Visiting Aspen was on our list of things to do this summer. So Dad signed up for the Aspen Valley
Marathon (a great excuse to head to the mountains!) and we made the scenic road trip just a week before
our move. We drove across Independence Pass, the highest paved crossing of the Continental Divide,
and the views were definitely worth the narrow, winding roads. On our way back home, we stopped in
Copper Mountain to see friends who were riding in the Courage Classic which benefits the Children's
Hospital in Colorado. It was a wonderful weekend and a great way to say good-bye to Colorado!

The Maroon Bells, twin 14,000 foot mountains near Aspen, is probably the most photographed spot in Colorado
