| Laguna de Apoyo, a lake inside a volcano, was formed 23,000 years ago when the volcano erupted and left a hole measuring 6km in diameter. As time went by, rain and subterranean waters filled the crater, which at its deepest point measures 600 feet! The water is warm and crystal clear in this sleeping volcano - perfect for an afternoon swim! |
