More Nicaragua - December 2015
Laguna de Apoyo, a lake inside a volcano, was formed 23,000 years ago when the volcano erupted and left a hole
measuring 6km in diameter. As time went by, rain and subterranean waters filled the crater, which at its deepest point
measures 600 feet! The water is warm and crystal clear in this sleeping volcano - perfect for an afternoon swim!
Dad's favorite fruit was
growing
EVERYWHERE! That
bamboo machete came
in handy for scoring us
some yummy bananas!
One afternoon we sat outside our bungalow and watched about
100 monkeys climb through the jungle right over our heads!
Time to head out.... A taxi ride... And a walk back across the border
